The IATF 16949 standard was developed in 2016 by leading automotive manufacturers. It combines essential requirements and quality management standards agreed upon by the automotive industry. The aim is to minimize quality risks and continuously improve reliability in production and the supply chain. Certification according to IATF 16949 is the most important prerequisite for direct cooperation between the supplier and automotive manufacturer.
