Criteria for the sustainability of our products

Our SUPRAX® borosilicate glass is free of harmful substances and 100% recyclable! And also in use, glass components from Auer Lighting make a significant contribution to environmental protection: Unlike plastic, glass does not age. This guarantees a long-lasting use of our components.

RoHS 2 Directive

The RoHS 2 Directive (2011/65/EU) restricts the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. The hazardous substances lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) and polybrimated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) listed in the directive are not used in Auer Lighting GmbH products.

REACH-Regulation

Regulation No. 1907/2006 (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals - REACH) is an EU chemicals regulation that came into force on June 1, 2007.
Article 33 of REACH obligates Auer Lighting to provide customers with certain information about substances of very high concern in our products. This is the case if one of our products contains substances that are included in the SVHC candidate list maintained at the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) and are present in the product in a concentration greater than 0.1% weight by weight (w/w). Auer Lighting periodically reviews the SVHC candidate list updated by ECHA and matches it with our products.
All our glass products consist entirely of the substance glass and this substance is not on the candidate list as defined by the REACH regulation. It is also not expected that glass will be included in the candidate list in the future. For coated glass products, no substance of the coating is on the candidate list. Therefore, there are no concerns regarding the effects of substances of very high concern when using our products and no obligation to provide information according to Art. 33 REACH.

California Prop 65

California Proposition 65 requires that special consumer warnings be posted in California on products containing chemicals known by the State of California to cause birth defects, cancer, or other reproductive harm if they exceed a certain threshold. Auer Lighting does not use any of the listed substances in its products.

LFGB and FDA

Suprax® products from Auer Lighting GmbH comply with the requirements of the Lebensmittel-, Bedarfsgegenstände- und Futtermittelgesetzbuches (LFGB) as well as the American FDA (US Food and Drug Administration). In particular, the requirements of the LFGB with Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004 and those of the FDA with the regulations CPG 7117.06 and FDA CPG 7117.07 are complied with.

Furthermore our batch components and the composition of our molten borosilicate glass Suprax® are subject to strict and regular monitoring. All manufacturing and control steps are regulated in writing by work instructions. Internal and external reviews of these regulations are carried out at specified intervals. This is in line with good manufacturing practices and thus complies with EU-Regulation (EC) No 2023/2006.

Noble metals from conflict zones

"Noble metals from conflict zones" refers to certain precious metals (such as tin, tantalum, tungsten, or gold) that are mined in countries where armed conflict and human rights abuses have been reported. Auer Lighting shares the concern of our customers not to use "noble metals from conflict zones" for the manufacturing of our products.

PFOS compliance statement

Auer Lighting does not use perfluorooctane sulfonates (PFOS) in its manufacturing process.

Packaging

Auer Lighting's sense of responsibility is also apparent in its selection of environmentally friendly packaging and its search for opportunities to use recyclable materials that can be returned after use. Auer Lighting uses only FSC® certified packaging for its packaging.
